Eco-Friendly Materials & Fixtures

As the world becomes a more fragile place, we must all be careful regarding what materials we use, and how we use them. There are modern additions such as eco-friendly, low-flow toilets, which can save up to 3 times more water than a regular toilet. Also, quite new, efficient shower heads, these allow us to enjoy luxury showers, all while being friendly with the planet. Saving water is one thing, but we can save on electricity as well. Energy-efficient lights will allow us to reduce our consumption considerably, so we also see all-time high in regard to the use of these products.

Technology Bathrooms

For a while now, we have been expecting this. It all started, from what I can remember, when underfloor heating got introduced into bathrooms. Suddenly, your feet were always nice and warm, and you could control this from the comfort of an electrical panel, on the wall. Soon later, we were able to install showers that worked digitally. Customers were able to control their shower thanks to an electrical, waterproof panel in the shower. This would allow you to adjust the temperature, pressure, and shower head (if they have more than one). And then, automated lights got introduced, these lights turn on as you walked in, and shut down as you walked out. You can set them to timers, so that the intensity of the light varies depending on the time of day. Nowadays, we are even seeing fully automated bathrooms, where you simply talk to a machine and tell it what to do:

  • “Hey Bathroom, turn the shower on at 38 degrees on head number 2”
  • “Hey Bathroom, turn the underfloor heating down by 3 degrees”
  • “Hey Bathroom, turn the light intensity down until tomorrow morning”

Minimalist Designs

Rather than out of the ordinary designs, a lot of households are choosing minimalist pieces and fixtures. If you take a look at this picture above, you will see how simple, yet aesthetic the bathroom is, as a whole. This is a really trendy style, and it's easily achievable on a budget, so lower-end, smaller budget bathrooms are still able to follow this trend.

Original Pieces In Simplistic Bathrooms

We just spoke about minimalist bathrooms, which are very popular. But what is even more “with the times” is a simplistic design, with a couple or original pieces. Above, for example, you can see a large mirror, and funky light, hanging from the ceiling. This takes the minimalist look to a whole new level! It's in between original and simple… at the same time!
