New Bathroom: What to Remember

Fitting a new bathroom may be one of the largest projects in a new house, or even a house you have had for decades. From the design to the installation, there is a lot to account for. However, this does not mean the job cannot be completed rapidly! The main factor to consider is the best balance between design and functionality. Luckily, bathroom fitters can help you along the way.

What are the steps involved in fitting a bathroom?

If demolition of an existing bathroom is required, this will probably take up to a day. The plumbing, electrical work and HVAC, all together, should take on average two weeks if you use the same workers for each job. The size and design of the bathroom will determine how close or far from two weeks the job will be. The renovation and installation of your new bathroom is a faster process, often between one day and one week, depending on size and design.

Are you a bath or a shower person? Or both?

Although time should not influence your choice, it will make a difference. To fit a shower, we would advise no more than a day. It is fairly straightforward, once the enclosure is chosen and the plumbing is ready to go , the replacement or installation of your new shower will be fast. For a bath, on the other hand, it is likely to take longer. There can often be a lot of tiling involved, work on the walls, grouting, etc. A few days will be necessary to fit a bath in this case.

The flooring

This particular step is worth mentioning, as many people like to do the job themselves. If the tiles are simple and the bathroom is not too large, the job can be approached with a DIY strategy. We recommend hiring professionals for more complex tiling or flooring, as you will save on time and have a flawless end-result.

All-in-all, how long will it take?

It is hard to say precisely, but we commonly give an estimate of two weeks in total. From experience, I can say it may be more or less, this is a good ballpark nonetheless.

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day!
